Grey to yellowish-bronze exfoliating bark.

Dark green oval shaped leaves which come to a point, and have serrated edges.

A medium sized tree is 75’ with an irregular crown.

Cone shaped fruit develop in fall and dispense seeds in winter.

Northeastern US native.
