Woody shrub with whitish-pink flowers in June and black berries in the fall.

3-6’ tall.

Attracts birds.

Grows in sandy soils.

Northeastern US native of marshes and sandy forests.

There is another variation of Black Chokeberry called Red Chokeberry (Aronia arbutifolia) that has red berries in the fall instead of black.
