Inconspicuous small clusters of greenish flowers in spring. 3-40’ long.

Dark blue-black berries in fall.

Berries provide winter food for a variety of bird species.

Larval host to sphinx months.

Grows in forests, thickets and rocky outcroppings.

Eastern US Native.
